Part 1 – Keyword Research
Part 2 – Blogging
Part 3 – Social Media
Part 4 – Landing Pages
Part 5 – Content Optimization
Social media and blogging make a lot of sense in the SEO game, right? But landing pages? What do they have to do with SEO? Don’t worry, I’m going to tell you why you need strong keyword centric landing pages as part of your strategy.
But first, let’s talk about what they are. Landing pages have traditionally been thought of as a PPC strategy and not so much around the SEO game.
According to Jason, they are the triple threat of web marketing.
1. Landing pages help you convert visitors into leads and buyers.
2. Landing pages help you rank better on search engines for different keywords.
3. Landing pages provide a lot of content that can attract inbound links.
See what we mean? Triple threat.
Landing Pages For Your Content Marketing SEO Strategy
The reason landing pages are such an important part of this strategy is that they are highly optimized (not overly optimized) and they have a ton of content on them. These are two things that Google and other search engines take into consideration when ranking your site. They also focus on a specific keyword that you are trying to rank for. See why those keywords are so important?
When you have a page that is highly targeted and focused it makes conversions more likely to happen. Plus because the content is so specialized and focused it makes internal linking (the links you build within your site to other pages within your site) easy and relevant.
What Should Your Landing Page Include?
This is a content backed strategy so your content should be your main focus of course. You need to have a strong keyword focused headlines, the proper title tags and great meta descriptions to start.
Your copy should be the focus here. For more tips on how to write great landing page copy, see this article.
How Many Landing Pages Should Your Strategy Include
I like to think of them as conversion pages, so in essence you should have a landing page for all of your products services or inquiry pages.
