I’ve been turning this idea around in my head a lot lately — Content is king. Bill Gates first put those words down back in 1996. He was prophetic to say the least. But what I’ve come to realize is just how long-term his prediction would be.
You see, content really is the cornerstone of every form of marketing you ever do. Print newsletters, business cards, direct mail, yellowbook ads, social media marketing, SEO, blogging, webinars, tele seminars — it all comes back to content.
The reason I say content *will always* be king is regardless of the technology and medium changes we might experience, we always need content to bridge the gap between customer and product or between customer and service.
Content is the glue that brings businesses closer to their customers, creates relationships, builds trust, and increases engagement.
So be sure you’re constantly working at doing a better job creating content and presenting content to your leads and customers. Regardless of what new technologies might surface, if you can’t produce valuable content your customers will love, you’ll be left in the dust.
