According to the Twitter blog, advertisers are now able to capture leads through Twitter. So how does it do that? Twitter cards allow you to create a customizable call to action on a Tweet. That call to action is seen when the Tweet is expanded, and can be anything from “sign up for our newsletter,” to an appeal to download their white paper or eBook. Once the viewer clicks on the call to action, the small business receives their username and email. Pretty simple!

You have to be promoting a Tweet in order to use this lead generation tip. But it could be very valuable if the conversion rates are high. We know that people like to interact with brands within their app, or site, of choice. This is a huge reason that Facebook tabs are so successful, so allowing people to give you their information without leaving Twitter has huge potential.
