It seems like every day I am writing a new post on how you can reach more people on Facebook. It’s for a good reason too. This is important stuff here. There are billions of people on Facebook. We want to reach as many as we can for as little as we can.
Facebook just launched something that could be hugely beneficial for small businesses to reach a targeted audience organically. Yes, that’s right ORGANICALLY. Exciting right? I think so too.
Basically, they have changed their algorithm so that when a Fan Page tags another fan page the audience of both of those pages might see the post. That can open you up to a whole lot of people. If done correctly, you can reach a very targeted audience who like that very brand you are talking about. Of course, there will be abusers and increased spam. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
There seem to be three ways to go about this. The first way is to tag other fan pages that are relevant to your post without a link.
You can also tag fan pages with a link.
And lastly you can tag fan pages while sharing an image or a video.
But remember, you have to manually create the post on Facebook. Using Hootsuite won’t allow you to tag other companies on Facebook.
How do you see your business taking advantage of this feature. Do you think small businesses will benefit? Or do you think Facebook will only allow huge fan pages with millions of followers partake?
