I love my phoneOne of the reasons I am so attracted to social media is because you can do it anywhere. All you need is a wifi/internet connection or a smart phone. Being a social media manager has allowed me to live all over the world and work with large and small companies alike. It’s very normal to find me in an airport or en route to a meeting or conference, and many times I’ve been saved by my phone. Ok, ok? I’m constantly on my phone. (Just ask Jason.) Sometimes I’m checking social media on my phone and the computer simultaneously.

Whether you’re addicted to checking your social media channels constantly like me, or you’re just interested in staying connected while traveling or away from your desk — here are some tips to help you stay connected on the go.

9 Mobile Social Media Apps You Can’t Live Without…

1. Mail
Duh. This one is really a no brainer. Every social media manager should have their mail go straight to their phone. If you get a lot of emails, you might want to turn off the notifications so you aren’t constantly getting a stream of buzzes.

2. Hootsuite
I love Hootsuite. The mobile app is just as easy to use as the desktop application and allows you to schedule and respond to posts quickly from your phone.

3. Facebook Pages
This is not Facebook mobile. You might have noticed that when you try to update your fan page from your mobile app, it shows up as you, and not the brand. This app is strictly for managers and solves that problem. You can manage all of your fans pages in a very simple format. And since you don’t get your newsfeed as you would on the regular app, you are less likely to waste time. With Facebook Pages you can respond to messages, update and add photos very easily. It’s a must have.

4. Twitter
Yes, I mentioned Hootsuite already, but it is also nice to have the Twitter app on your phone. You can add multiple accounts and it is nice for quick checks and searches. I try to turn my notification off here as well because it can be very distracting.

5. Radian 6
Radian 6 is used as a social listening tool. Since tweets are always happening it is nice to have this app so you can respond to messages that include your keywords and save them to respond to at a later date. It’s a real time saver while you are waiting to board your flight.

6. Instagram
I love Instagram. Since it is an mobile app to begin with, I am not sure it belongs on this list. But maybe that’s also why it belongs on this list. The only issue I have with Instagram is that every time I update a different clients page, I have to log out of the one I am currently using and log into the appropriate one. I wish there was an Instagram app that allowed me to post to multiple accounts without signing out.

7. Viber
Viber is great if you travel overseas or have international clients. It allows you to make free calls and texts to any one within the Viber network.

8. LinkedIn
If you read this blog often you will know that I am borderline obsessed with LinkedIn. The LinkedIn app is a great app to have if you post often and want to make sure you respond to comments in a quick manner. The app is always being updated and you should download it now.

9. Bubble Witch Saga
No I’m kidding, but a girl’s gotta have a little game time too.

Of course, I’m always looking around for new apps. So if you have any ideas or just want to share your favorite social marketing apps, please share them below.

And questions are always welcome!
