I talk to small business owners like yourself every day. Literally, every single day. In my conversations, I always hear the same thing. I’m not getting the results I want online. And of course, my response if usually the same.
Want to know what it is?
You aren’t doing the right things online.
The fact of the matter is that many small business owners have a website, they have dabbled in some SEO tactics and when Google changed their algorithm, they lost all their traffic. Sound familiar? You aren’t alone.
While SEO worked in the past and still works today, achieving traffic and top billing on search engines is a lot more complex than it used to be. SEO is a journey. It’s a process. It’s not a result.
Getting traffic isn’t hard, we help companies achieve this goal through our systematic approach. Here are the three reasons you aren’t getting the results you’d like.
4 Reasons Your Stuck In A Rut
1. You Aren’t Blogging
If you can only do one of these three things, this should be it. Blogging is the most important thing you could be doing online. If you aren’t blogging, you aren’t going to get very far. Blogging helps you increase your traffic and long term search engine rankings. It allows you to increase your website entry points and increase the amount of keywords you can be found for. Every time you blog, you are opening yourself up for a new lead and a new sale. You don’t know what people are interested in while searching online, so blogging helps you hedge your bet that people will find you for different things. And often times they aren’t for those trophy keywords you are hoping for. But most importantly blogging gives you something to share and others something to share, which helps you drive traffic back to your site.
2. You Aren’t Being Social
Consumers expect you to be social these days. If you aren’t you are going to get looked over. Your social presence is an important aspect of the overall equation because it helps you build relationships with your customers online, it drives traffic back to your site and it helps you rank better in search engines. Yes, social sharing plays a huge role in how sites will rank your traffic. Social media shares are the new social proofing and the new back-linking. Google and other search engines look at the amount of shares you are getting and register that as a quality website. You need to be social.
3. You Aren’t Being Consistent
If you aren’t blogging and sharing on regular basis you will fall victim to online ghost syndrome. You really need to make sharing and blogging part of your daily routine. The more consistent you are, the more your customers and followers will get to know you. Plus, it keeps you relevant and in front of them. In a scattered world, we need to capture the attention of our customers as much as possible.
4. You Aren’t Taking Action
People who take action get results. In business and in life. If you aren’t getting results, change what you are doing. Done and done.
